Apasen International has accomplished its longstanding commitment of setting up a Special School as well as Day Centre in Sylhet jointly with Phoenix School London. The grand opening of this unique project takes place on Saturday 16 November 2019. During the inaugural event, Foreign Minister Dr. Abdul Momen, Planning Minister Muhammad Abdul Mannan and British High Commissioner to Bangladesh H.E. Robert Chatterton Dickson unveiled the plaque. Prior to the opening ceremony, Apasen International Chief Executive Mahmud Hasan MBE welcomes the dignitaries and subsequently takes them to the Day Centre and Special School to show children’s activities. Amongst the guests, Sylhet City Mayor Ariful Haque Choudhury, NDD Trust Chair Professor Golam Rabbani, Hafiz Ahmed Mazumder MP, Dewan Shahnewaz Gazi Milad MP and former member of the parliament Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury were also present at the inaugural event. After unveiling the plaque at Amborkhana, the formal inauguration takes place at city’s Rose View hotel.
Following the welcome address by Apasen International Chair Helal Rahman, British High Commissioner Robert Chatterton Dickson, Apasen and Apasen International Chief Executive Mahmud Hasan MBE, Phoenix School Head teacher Stewart Harris, Deputy Head Veronica Armson, renowned academician Dr. Kabir H Choudhury, UKBCCI President Bajloor Rashid MBE and AI Trustee Professor Mosaddek Ahmed Chowdhury delivered their speeches. The speakers hope that through this project, Apasen International would make a huge difference in terms of improving the education system and health services for children diagnosed with autism and learning disabilities.
