Apasen International has become the Charity Partner of the UKBCCI Business & Entrepreneur Excellence Awards 2019 to be held on 6 October at the London Hilton Park Lane. This prestigious event in the annual business calendar tends to recognise and celebrate the contribution of businesses to the local and the wider community, whilst at the same time covering a range of sectors and industries across the UK, Bangladesh and even internationally.

On Monday 22 July, UKBCCI organises a press conference at the Radisson Blu hotel, Canary Wharf to announce the launch of its annual Business & Entrepreneur Excellence Awards 2019 and Gala Dinner. As recognition of success, awards will be given to the British Bangladeshi Business Entrepreneurs for their individual excellence in 12 different categories. The President of UKBCCI Mr Bajloor Rashid MBE said: ’’We are committed to build up a bridge between Bangladesh and the UK besides creating opportunities for the community with a particular focus on our younger generation’’.

In his speech, Mahmud Hasan MBE, the Chief Executive of Apasen and Apasen International said:

‘‘Not only for the upcoming event, Apasen International has agreed to be the exclusive charity partner with UKBCCI for next one year. During this partnership, Apasen and UKBCCI will jointly work to improve the lives of most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Bangladesh who have been suffering from learning disabilities and neurodevelopmental disorders. ’’

The press conference was attended by a number of journalists from different media outlet, UKBCCI leaders, event sponsors and distinguished community leaders.

The Boishakhi Mela (Bengali New Year festival) has always been an amazing celebration bringing the community together to witness the very best in Bengali culture, art and music. Following incredible responses from wider audience over the past few years, Apasen had its own stall at Mela this year and featured various projects and services in Weavers Fields. The stall has been visited by community leaders, journalists and politicians along with a cross section of people.

Amongst a wide array of dignitaries, the Canary Wharf Group’s Managing Director (Strategy) Mr Howard Dawber visited Apasen stall and appreciates the work it has been doing over the decades. The largest Boishakhi Mela or traditional Bengali fair is being organised by London Borough of Tower Hamlets. According to the council, this year’s festival attracted around 40,000 revellers across the day from the borough and beyond.
