On Thursday, Apasen organises its annual Eid Party at Apasen main office in London. The event has been hosted each year to celebrate the most significant religious festival by the Muslims. Following Apasen’s consecutive successes of organising such events, this year the celebration has become more colourful which is attended by most of the learners, members of staff and trustees. During the event, Apasen Chief Executive Mahmud Hasan MBE delivered a welcome speech and explained the significance of such religious and cultural events.

At the function, learners thoroughly enjoyed the magic show, games, foods and cultural performance. As part of special appearance, legendary Bengali musician Tapan Chowdhury sang his popular songs for the learners. Praising the enthusiasm of Apasen learners, he said:

‘I have never seen anything like this- this is another level of inspiration.’

The Eid party ended with a delicious meal which was enjoyed by all.

Apasen introduces a significant initiative to help its learners overcome barriers to work. The organisation has recently launched a sewing project to encourage learners into sustained employment. Through this programme, Apasen aims to support learners by providing employability services such as confidence building and specialised skills training.

Over the past few months, learners have been making Aprons with high quality fabrics are now on sale. Apasen members of staff already placed their order to support and encourage the hard work by these differently abled people. The project is being conducted in partnership with WEA which is considered to be the largest voluntary sector provider of adult education in England and Scotland.
