Apasen International’s supporters in the North West of England showed their support for the charity at a series of events in May 2016.
Mahmud Hasan, Chief Executive of Apasen International, visited the region to meet and present our work in Bangladesh to leaders in the social, philanthropic, and business sectors. There was also a cheque handing over ceremony from an influential supporter – Monchab Ali – who is well known for his generous fundraising activities – and a thank you visit to Oldham Sabah Snack Bar who raised close to £500 for our charity with their all day biryani fundraiser.
The events also included a presentation and information evening at Eastern Pavilion Banqueting Hall for key influencers, entrepreneurs and a number of families who have children with autism. The event was attended by people from Oldham, Rochdale, Manchester, Liverpool, Chester and North Wales.
Cllr Abdul Jabbar, said that this work is very important and thanked Mahmud Hasan and Apasen International for taking this on.
The visit culminated in Ghulam Mostofa Choudhury MBE a key figure in the North West, suggesting that a ‘Friends of Apasen International’ be established for fundraising and awareness raising.
We are happy to report that this first regional supporters group has now been established and they are already planning their first event to support our work. North West Friends of Apasen International is organising a gala dinner and fundraiser on 20 September 2016 in Oldham for the region. More details soon.
