Former Bangladesh Bank governor Atiur Rahman visits Apasen main office

Renowned economist and former Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Atiur Rahman visits Apasen main office on 15 May, 2019. The Chief Executive of Apasen and Apasen International Mr Mahmud Hasan MBE welcomes Professor Rahman and takes him to the Opportunity Zone to demonstrate learners’ creative engagements. Mr Hasan also briefs him about Apasen International’s upcoming projects in Bangladesh.  Dr Atiur Rahman emphasizes on ‘replicating these excellent humane and socially responsible activities’ in Bangladesh.  He added,

‘‘Apasen is doing an excellent job for humanity. I wish I met them earlier so that I could put my hands for this great team. There are so many challenged and vulnerable children in Bangladesh who need such human touch.’’

 

Professor Dr Atiur Rahman is a Bangladeshi development economist, writer and banker. He served as the 10th Governor of Bangladesh Bank, which is the central bank of Bangladesh. He has also been called “the banker of the poor” for his significant contributions in developing the economy of Bangladesh.
