Apasen, our sister organisation, received the award for Best Charity Organisation at the prestigious British Bangladeshi Business Awards 2015 in Birmingham on 11 March.
Founder and Chairman of the British Bangladeshi Awards, Mishbaur Rahman, presented the award to Apasen learner, Imran, on behalf of all the learners, parents, and staff who contribute so much to the success of the organisation.
Mahmud Hasan, Chief Executive, of Apasen and Apasen International thanked Desh Foundation and the audience for the award:
“We are truly honoured to have won the best charity award. This award really helps us to promote the rights and needs of people with learning disabilities in the UK.”
The gala was held at the New Bingley Hall with more than 800 people including Guest of Honour, the UK Prime Minister, David Cameron and many leading figures from the British Bangladesh communities from across the UK.
Guests donated generously to a charity raffle that Apasen International held at the event raising almost £900 to help improve the lives of vulnerable children with learning disabilities in Bangladesh.
